Grand Teton National Park - General Park Information

The Western part of The United States is home to many amazing travel destinations. One of the most amazing destinations is Grand Teton National Park. This national park is located in Wyoming. It is south of Yellowstone National Park. Grand Teton National Park has over three hundred thousand acres of land and offers visitors a variety of activities to enjoy.

Grand Teton National Park is a haven for individuals who enjoy rugged outdoor activities. There are no major cities located near this national reserve area. Dining and shopping activities are limited to the occasional fast food joint, small restaurant, and outdoor supply businesses in the few small towns located near the park's boundaries.

Accommodations in this area usually include the items brought by its visitors. Tents are the most common form of shelter available in this area. However, there are some designated campsites for recreational vehicle use. These areas, however, are located in the valleys below the peaks of the Grand Tetons. There are also several cabins for rent in the area. However, reservations for these accommodations are usually made several months to a year in advance.

There are many exciting activities that can be done while visiting Grand Tetons National Park during the summer months. Many visitors find that hiking trails and bike trails are the best way to explore local areas of the national park. Guided tours are also available for visitors to enjoy. Boating, rafting, and fishing are also available to enjoy in the various lakes, rivers, and streams found within the park's boundaries.

Winter months also offer visitors a variety of activities to enjoy. Cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and snowboarding are among the more popular activities. Visitors can enjoy designated trails that allows them to choose the level of intensity they will traverse across. Individuals can also explore unmarked territority at their own risk.
